DB Motorail Train

And the last bit with a chauffeur: if you come with a car, you can drive the last kilometres from the DB motorail train SyltShuttle. Niebüll there is one at the DB motorail terminal with two-storied red carriages. The train carries your car on its back.

The sightseeing trip goes through a high, broad area on the seaward side of the dyke, through the mudflats on the Hindenburgdamm, past Morsum, Archsum and Keitum to Westerland. From there you can drive yourself – to Kampen. The Syltshuttle travels over 13,000 times a year back and forth, every 30 to 90 minutes. The crossing lasts around 35 minutes per trip.
For tickets there is also a sophisticated range of special offers: for new drivers, for day trips, for trips during the week, for motor caravans, sometimes even in combination with entrance tickets for the Sylter Welle swimming pool or the aquarium in Westerland. During the high season, mainly on Saturdays and on holidays, the entraining stations is sometimes the eye of the needle through which the big community of Sylter fans must pass: switching to the early or late trains is recommended or to travel a little against the current go on the road a day earlier or later than the masses. Reservations are not available on the DB motorail train SyltShuttle.
